Getting to Jaipur
Whether you are flying from the United States, driving from Delhi, or taking the train from Chennai, our dedicated wedding team ensures every guest arrives comfortably. Please share your travel details on your RSVP so we can coordinate your transfers.
Flying to Jaipur
Jaipur International Airport (JAI) is approximately 13 km from R Chandra Palace, about 25–30 minutes by road.
From the United States
Nonstop flights connect several US cities including Washington Dulles, Atlanta, New York (JFK), Chicago, and San Francisco directly to Delhi (DEL), via Air India and United among others. From Delhi, a short connecting flight (about an hour) to Jaipur completes the journey, via IndiGo, Air India, or SpiceJet.
From Chennai
Daily direct flights to Jaipur (approximately 2.5 hours) via IndiGo and Air India or via a Delhi connection.
From Delhi
Multiple daily flights (about 55 minutes), or the comfortable Shatabdi Express by train (approximately 4.5 hours) from New Delhi Railway Station.

Please book by October 2026. December is peak season and fares rise significantly closer to the date.
Ground Transfers & Logistics Arranged by Our Wedding Team
Travel logistics to and from the venue on your arrival day (13 December or earlier) and your departure day (15 December) are fully coordinated by our wedding planning team. This includes airport and railway station pickups, as well as return drop-offs.

Travel & Transport
Travel Note: Passport & Visa Requirements
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India, with at least two blank pages available for immigration stamps. All US citizens travelling to India need a valid visa before arrival. The easiest option is the e-Visa, which can be applied for entirely online. We recommend applying at least 2–3 weeks before your departure date.

Jaipur - A City Like No Other
A Brief History
Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, Jaipur was the first planned city of pre-colonial India laid out on a remarkable geometric grid following ancient Hindu architectural principles. The city was painted its signature terracotta pink in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales, and the tradition has been lovingly maintained ever since, giving Jaipur its enduring title: the Pink City. Today a UNESCO World Heritage City, Jaipur is the crown jewel of India's Golden Triangle, a place where medieval grandeur, vibrant bazaars, exquisite cuisine, and extraordinary warmth converge. It is, quite simply, the perfect stage for a once-in-a-lifetime wedding weekend.
Amber Fort
A 16th-century Rajput fort-palace perched on a hilltop, home to the legendary Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors). Unmissable. 11 km from the city centre. Allow 3–4 hours.
City Palace
A grand royal complex in the heart of the old city, with spectacular courtyards, royal museums, and the magnificent Chandra Mahal still home to the royal family today. Allow 2–3 hours.
Hawa Mahal
Jaipur's most iconic monument, the "Palace of the Winds," with 953 intricately latticed windows. A photographer's dream, especially at sunrise.
Jantar Mantar
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest stone sundial, an 18th-century astronomical observatory that fascinates every visitor.
Old City Markets
Johari Bazaar for gemstones and Kundan jewellery, Bapu Bazaar for textiles, and Nehru Bazaar for traditional mojris and exceptional shopping at remarkable prices.
Rajasthani Cuisine
Dal Baati Churma at LMB, the legendary Pyaaz Kachori at Rawat, and rooftop dining at 1135 AD within Amber Fort. Do not leave without trying the iconic Ghewar.
Practical Tips for Visitors
Good walking shoes are recommended, heritage sites involve considerable walking on uneven terrain

Download Ola or Uber for affordable, reliable transport across the city
Drink only bottled or filtered water throughout your stay
ATMs are widely available at hotels and market areas. Having some Indian Rupees (INR) on hand for smaller purchases and tips is always advisable
Visa and Mastercard are the most universally accepted cards across India, at hotels, restaurants, tourist sites, and most retail stores
Jaipur is world-famous for gemstones, block-print textiles, blue pottery, and silver jewellery
